Built around the straightforward utility of a traditional chore coat, the Travail Canvas Jacket is a durable everyday layer made from sturdy cotton canvas cloth.

The bleu de travail—French for “work blue”—emerged in the 19th-century as the everyday jacket of farmers, railroad workers, and tradesmen. Its durable blue fabric became so closely associated with manual labor that the jacket eventually helped shape what we now recognize as the blue-collar identity. 

This jacket is our attempt to pay homage to that identity. The relaxed, slightly oversized fit leaves room to move and layer without feeling excessively baggy. Its structured canvas construction gives the jacket a clean workwear silhouette that will soften and develop character through regular wear.
